One of God's very faithful servants was walking down the street one day and decided to take a rest on a bench. God saw this and he decided to take the opportunity to reward him for his faithfulness. "You've been a very faithful servant of mine, and I'd like to reward you for that. I'd like to grant you one wish, any wish, just name it."
The man thinks about it and then perks up, "I'd like a superhighway and bridge from California to Hawaii."
God frowns and says, "That's a little bit of a materialistic wish, don't you think? Besides, how would I explain to everyone how a bridge appeared suddenly in the middle of the ocean? Isn't there anything else you might want, something less materialistic?"
The man thinks for a little longer, and then says, "I'd like to be able to understand women. I'd like to be able to understand how they think, why it is they think the way they do, understand their concerns, etc. Generally, I just want to be able know where they are coming from."
With a funny look on His face, God says, "So, how many lanes do you want on that bridge?"
